Our History

Bob Hale(left) and Steve Aronson(right) both graduated from Northeastern University and started Hapco(Hale and Aronson Polymer Company) out of an old paint shop in Braintree.

First developing and manufacturing polymer alloys and structural adhesives, Hapco’s major milestones in the 1970’s included formulating a structural adhesive used to repair the fence surrounding the Boston Commons.

Another major application in the 70’s included molds for unitsoles and heels, primarily used in the shoe industry.

In the early 1980’s, Hapco entered the electrical insulation market with its Di-Pak product family, potting and encapsulating systems, and the Filtration and Ultrafiltration markets, with Filter-bond sealing and bonding systems.

In the 1990’s, Hapco invented a new concept and began to market Liquid Molding Compounds: a fast and low cost method for low production of rubber and plastic parts.

The turn of the century brought many changes to Hapco. The most important was the design and development of dispensing and processing equipment to provide one integrated source for high quality polymer alloys, dispensing equipment, and expert technical support.
